HNBT 2026 – Award Winners

Across both the U14 and U19 tournaments, several players and referees stood out with exceptional performances, earning individual recognition for their impact on and off the court.

U14 Awards

MVP – Ziemowit Żochowski (KKS Tarnowskie Góry) – 17.6 PPG

Żochowski was the driving force behind KKS Tarnowskie Góry’s championship run. As the team’s offensive leader, he consistently delivered in every game and stepped up when it mattered most, including a dominant performance in the final. His scoring ability combined with leadership made him the clear MVP of the U14 tournament.

Best Offensive Player – Keith Annys (BC Oostende) – 23.6 PPG

Annys proved to be one of the most explosive scorers in the entire tournament. With an impressive 23.6 points per game, he was nearly unstoppable offensively, capable of scoring from all areas on the court and carrying his team during key stretches.

Best Defensive Player – Hector Valdivia Carvajal (Open Capital Basketera) – 15.0 PPG

While also contributing offensively, Valdivia Carvajal made his biggest impact on the defensive end. His intensity, positioning and ability to disrupt opponents made him a cornerstone of Basketera’s defense throughout the tournament.

Best Referee – Walter Mijnders

Walter Mijnders was recognized not only for his strong and consistent officiating, but also for his role in mentoring and guiding other referees during the U14 tournament. His leadership contributed significantly to the overall quality of officiating.

U19 Awards

MVP – Lukas Lukosiunas (Tornado BS) – 21.2 PPG, 106 points, 10 3PT

Lukosiunas delivered an outstanding tournament, combining volume scoring with efficiency from beyond the arc. His 106 total points made him one of the most productive players in the event, while his shooting and leadership stood out in multiple games.

Best Offensive Player – Noah Wendland (EWE Baskets Juniors) – 17.3 PPG, 11 3PT

Wendland, wearing jersey #24, was a key figure in EWE Baskets Juniors’ championship run. His ability to stretch the floor with his shooting and consistently contribute on offense made him one of the most dangerous players in the U19 competition.

Best Defensive Player – Joren Maele (BBC Falco Gent) – 6.0 PPG

Maele’s impact went far beyond the box score. His defensive presence, energy and ability to guard multiple positions made him a crucial piece for Falco Gent and earned him recognition as the tournament’s top defender.

Best Referee – Sem Vorst

Sem Vorst stood out for his calm presence and clear decision-making throughout the U19 tournament. His consistency and control of the games ensured a high standard of officiating at this level.
