HNBT Dunk Content
This year, a dunk contest and 3-point shootout will be held again during the HNBT.
On Sunday, April 5, 2026, from approximately 8:50 PM, the event will begin with the 3-point shootout in Sporthal Vinkhuizen and conclude with the spectacular dunk contest.
HNBT connects players around the World
An event with 32 teams from 10 different countries naturally requires a good place to relax and unwind. The 32 teams will be spread across three hotels: Flonk Plaza Groningen, Bud Gett Hostels, and Martini Hotel.

In addition, some of the U14 teams will be welcomed by various Groningen host families from BV Groningen. This has been happening for years and is always an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Even after the HNBT, they often stay in touch through social media. In some cases, the BV Groningen teams visit again, and many players reconnect. This creates lasting sporting friendships. How cool would it be if they could one day play together for a top European club?
HNBT Catering
Food during a sporting event like the HNBT is, of course, incredibly important! The meals must be nutritious so the players can perform optimally throughout the tournament. This means freshly prepared meals with fresh ingredients.
During the tournament, a fantastic team works every day in the kitchen of the Heyerdahl College in Groningen to provide the teams with a good meal. For most team members, this isn't their first time. For them too, the HNBT is a fun get-together.
HNBT Volunteers
The HNBT is made possible entirely by the efforts of approximately 140 volunteers, both in the preparation and during the tournament itself. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, the HNBT is a true showcase for the city of Groningen during the Easter weekend. The hospitality and friendliness are widely praised by the visiting teams, which is why many of these teams want to return to Groningen year after year.
Furthermore, thanks to all these volunteers, we have now successfully organized the longest-running basketball event in the Netherlands for the 29th time!
