All games will be played according to FIBA-rules, except for the following changes. These rules apply to U13, U15, U17 and U19.
These rules must be followed unless the technical HNBT-management decides otherwise.
Only for U19: Finals on Monday will be played according to FIBA rules with 4 x 10 minutes.
Tournament rules
- A team may use a selection of maximum 12 registered players during a game.
- U13 will play with ball size 6. All other age groups will play with ball size 7.
- The team should bring their second set of shirts to each game.
- The teams must be present at least 20 minutes before the game starts.
- The team have to fill out the score-sheet (in capitals) also 20 minutes before the game starts.
- Teams are not allowed to enter the court before the prior game has been finished.
- Non-playing teams are not allowed to enter the court during time-outs and halftimes.
- The team, first mentioned in the schedule, is seated at the left side of the jury facing the court. In the first half team scores at the basket at the right side of the jury facing the court.
- Draw is only possible during poule games. Draw is not possible during cross-finals and finals.
- NEW: U13, U15 and U17 will play with quick inbound rules (“Spanish Rules”) on the back court. Meaning the referee doesn’t have to intervene on violations made on the backcourt (team on violation puts the ball directly on the ground), the opposite team can inbound the ball directly. If a personal foul is made on the back court, the referee should hand over the ball before resuming the game. The referee can always intervene in case of subsituations or time-outs.
Game time
- All games will be 4 x 8 minutes stopping time.
- Between 1st and 2nd quarter there is a 2 minute break.
- Between 2nd and 3rd quarter there is a 5 minute break.
- Between 3rd and 4th quarter there is a 2 minute break.
- During cross-finals and finals, overtime is 1 x 5 minutes in case of draw. When more overtime periods are needed, there is a 2 minute break between each overtime period.
- Only for U19: Final games will be 4 x 10 minutes (Monday) according to FIBA rules.
Fouls
- A player with 4 personal fouls must leave the game (not applicable for U19 on Monday during Finals)
- Free throws will be awarded from the 4th team foul (not applicable for U19 on Monday during Finals)
- A direct disqualification of a coach, his assistant(s) or a player for misconduct during a game will result in exclusion of this person for the rest of the day. The technical commision determines possible (extra) penalties at the end of the tournament day.
Rewarding / points
- If a team is not ready to start the game at the scheduled time, they will lose the game and be “rewarded” with 0 points. Their opponents will be rewarded with 3 points (winning game). 0-20 will be added as scoring of the game.
- If two teams end with the same amount of points, the game-result between both teams will be decisive. If the result is still the same, the goal difference will be decisive.
